Unimpressive room decor.
Much to the disappointment of some of the guests, the decor of
the rooms was quite tired and in need of modernisation. Worn carpets and old fashioned furniture left many guests unimpressed whilst the bathrooms were also described as basic with dated and impractical fixtures.
negative:
Tiring climb to the rooms.
The lack of a lift on the premises inconvenienced many guests particularly those whose rooms were located on the upper floors. Many objected having to carry their luggage up several flights of stairs without any assistance from the hotel staff.
negative:
Lack of choice on the menus.
Some guests complained about the lack of choice on the set menus and criticised the fact that there wasn’t enough Scottish dishes on offer at the restaurant.
