    Barceló Maya Colonial Puerto Aventuras is a stunning, all-inclusive 5-star resort located in Riviera Maya, complete with several restaurants, family entertainment and luxury accommodations. The hotel is part of the Barcelo group of resorts. Suites come with a number of features, including bathrobes and slippers, air conditioning, satellite television, minibar, patio or balcony, 24-hour room service, housekeeping, coffeemaker, free Wi-Fi and in-room child care for a fee. The Barceló Maya Colonial Puerto Aventuras features a spa, children’s club, multiple swimming pools, private beach, tennis court, concierge services and fitness center. There are numerous on-site restaurants and bars including Colonial Buffet, Kyoto and Marenostrum, Mariachi.  There are several bars on-site as well. The resort offers a wide range of on-site activities and excursions including parasailing, basketball, horseback riding, scuba diving, fishing, golfing, aerobics classes, volleyball and more. Playa del Carmen is a short driving distance away.

    The children's pool is a friendly environment where guests can let kids be kids, complete with a lifeguard on duty to help ensure everyone stays safe.

    Guests can buy a bottle or two of wine and then bring it to dinner at one of the restaurants on-site. Wait staff is happy to cork an unfinished bottle so that it's available for dinner the next evening.

    Close proximity to adventures

    Guests have access to a number of excursions in the area, as well as numerous on-site activities. Daily, free dolphin shows are just up the road and always a hit with children and adults alike.

    Some guests note that there is a hefty, hourly fee for Wi-Fi access in some public areas. Cheaper Wi-Fi is available in the rooms.

    Several guests note that the drinks were not completely up to par for such a highly rated, all-inclusive resort. Some guests feel that the beer from the tap at the poolside bar was warm and bordering on flat. The friendly and personable bartending staff goes above and beyond to make things right, however.
