Lion & Swan Hotel (Congleton, United Kingdom)

Most guests were greeted by cheerful staff which got their visit off to a great start. Staff were friendly and polite, and some said that they were perhaps the best thing about the Lion & Swan.

Guests were pleased with the location of this hotel. Situated in the centre of Congleton, it was easy to get to shops and restaurants, and there was even a pub or two around the corner. Street noise was also at a minimum despite the central location.

Many guests took note of the interesting and beautiful building where rooms were located. Full of plenty of quirky and unique details, guests would return for the character that was the complete opposite of a cookie cutter chain hotel.

A few guests weren't satisfied with the condition of their accommodation. Dust and cobwebs made guests think that the housekeeping team needed to do a better job.

Guests noticed a few things that could have used improvement, which included dated bathrooms, inefficient lighting, and curtains that didn't keep the room dark enough in some cases. With a few changes, guests felt that rooms could go from average to great.

Because of its age, this hotel has thin walls and is sometimes prone to noise travelling. A few guests reported a disturbed sleep or a noisy night due to sounds coming from neighbouring rooms. While the majority of guests managed to avoid disturbances from other guests, a few weren't as lucky.
