Guests appreciated the location of this hotel. Some stayed while attending games at nearby Killen Stadium, others found it a comfortable and affordable base for visiting historic Lake Charles and southwest Louisiana. They also enjoyed the easy freeway access and  convenience to nearby shops, restaurants and grocery stores.

Popular with long stay guests, the hotel offers fully equipped kitchens and lounge areas. Guests described the rooms as clean and comfortable and appreciated the convenience of an on-site laundry.

The staff at this hotel received a thumbs-up for their professionalism, friendliness and knowledge of the local area. Guests cited individual instances in which staff and management had gone out of their way to be of assistance.

The lack of routine maintenance was frequently cited. Guests complained about inadequate water pressure, broken bathroom fixtures and air vents, non working kitchen equipment and faulty door locks.

There were reports of housekeeping problems at this hotel. Guests complained that refrigerators weren't cleaned adequately between guests, that rooms weren't cleaned on a daily basis and linens and towels weren't changed frequently enough. Public areas such as hallways and stairwells were described as littered, unswept and dusty.

Lingering smells of smoke in corridors and in non smoking rooms were reported and guests also complained of stale and mildewy smells in the rooms.
