Positive Reviews
positive:
Good atmosphere in the pub
Reviews suggest that you can expect to enjoy a good atmosphere in the pub at the Lamb Inn. Guests mention that it's olde worldly in its nature and music is rarely played but friendly staff and a nice group of locals make the environment welcoming.
positive:
Decent breakfast
Although a small number of guests found the free breakfast was a little bland, the majority of previous visitors are complimentary about the standard of the morning meal, commenting that it set them up nicely for the day. Guests enjoyed having the choice between a full English and a lighter bite.
positive:
Friendly staff
While a few guests mention that they found this property a little understaffed at times, most were happy enough with the standard of service on offer, typically finding the landlady and the staff were friendly and approachable.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Some rooms are noisy
Guests who were allocated a room above the bar often found their accommodation was noisy until just after midnight. Rooms in the converted stable are found to be much quieter so light sleepers are advised to request one of those.
negative:
Some cleanliness issues
While many guests were satisfied with the standard of the rooms, others were less impressed, especially in regards to cleanliness. The most commonly reported issue is that the carpets are a bit grubby but other guests noticed large cobwebs and mould in the bathrooms.
negative:
Parking can be a problem
A number of guests mention that parking here can be problematic. Nearby parking seems to be limited to a two-hour stay until 4:00 pm, so you may need to park in town and then move the car back later. Understandably, guests found this a bit of a hassle.
