Many recent travellers like the fresh, modern look of the freshly renovated guest rooms, which are also widely described as spacious and clean. Some rooms on the higher floors offer a very fine view of the nearby park, and guests also like the view from the rooftop terrace area.

Parents travelling with small children love the play area adjoining the breakfast buffet area, which allows them to relax over a second cup of coffee. The breakfast buffet also get very high marks for variety, with guests often commenting on the fresh produce and Finnish specialties (such as herring) on offer. The chef also receives compliments on the dinner menu.

Guests generally like the convenience of hotel's location; it's a pleasant 15-minute stroll into the city centre, and there are bus and tram stops just a few steps away with frequent service into the centre as well. The location is also very convenient to as a Finnair shuttle bus stop, the Opera House, Linnemaki amusement park, and the National Museum.

The hotel has over 500 rooms, and some guests have been annoyed or overwhelmed by the long queues at reception, waits for the elevators, or big crowds at breakfast depleting items faster than the staff can replenish them.

Some swimmers have found the pool too cold, while others wish the pool and sauna areas were supervised, as it can be crowded or in need of maintenance.
