The staff here are really friendly and helpful. They can deal with any issues efficiently and with the minimum of fuss. They are happy to give you extremely helpful information about the local area and where to go hiking.

The location of this hotel is excellent, in that it is a good base from which to explore attractions such as churches. historical sites and castles. There are lots of nice walks you can go on through woodland, up the mountains and along the riverside. What's more, the hotel grounds are delightful. They are really peaceful and their outdoor areas are good for relaxing.

The breakfast here is a tasty way to start your day and the selection of meals in the evening are delicious and plentiful as well.

While guestrooms are pretty spacious and clean, the décor is starting to feel somewhat dated and in need of a freshen up. Some of the fixtures and fittings are past their best and could do with being replaced. The same can be said of the bathrooms, which would benefit from something of a revamp.

Some previous guests have commented that their mattress felt rather uncomfortable. Either they were a little lumpy or the springs could be felt.

Considering the beautiful location, you might be disappointed to find that your guestroom doesn't have the most amazing views. Some rooms look out on not much more than a door or the area where the bins are kept, which will hardly give you a nice sense of location.
