Hotel Regent (Munich, Germany)

The rooms are very large for a downtown hotel with comfortable beds, hardwood floors, beautiful, white, crisp linens and en suite bathrooms with hot showers and good water pressure.

Right in the heart of Munich, Hotel Regent offers immediate access to Marienplatz, Hofbräuhaus am Platzl beer hall, Viktualienmarkt, the English Garden and Oktoberfest, which are all within walking distance. There's a metro station, Hauptbahnhof, just five minutes away facing the hotel. The Munich Airport is a 40-minute drive away.

The Wi-Fi is not consistent, offering an intermittent signal throughout the hotel. The staff are not equipped to fix it. However, it is free and there are many Wi-Fi hot spots within walking distance of the hotel.

The rooms do not have air conditioning, which is common in Germany and for most of the year, this is fine as the rooms can even run a bit cold. However, they do have ceiling fans and if you open the windows, you can have a nice breeze waft in, which helps during the summer months.

The hotel offers professional meeting and conference rooms that you can rent out for the day or longer, which are very nice spaces for working and collaborating with others.

Since the hotel has many floors, you will be riding the elevator up and down quite a bit. It only fits up to three people at a time so this can be inconvenient especially during check-in and check-out hours.
