Hotel Nakula Stay Kuta (Kuta, Indonesia)

This hotel is a nice, quiet oasis to return to; away from the buzz of nearby areas, beaches and restaurants. It is a bit far from the centre, but that's why the setting is so attractive.

There are no complaints about the standards of cleanliness and comfort provided. The hotel scores highly on both counts.

Members of staff are very friendly and obliging. The rooms are spacious and inviting and there's plenty of storage space. Some of the usual hotel services are missing but you'll be thrilled at the price and value.

When arriving for the first time and as a complete stranger to the area, frustration is the first sensation to be challenged. The lack of any signage indicating the turn-off for the hotel and its location, makes you wonder if you're even in the right area. They really must invest in some clearly visible signs.

The kitchen area is ‘just that'! There's next to nothing in it; no refrigerator … nothing! This area needs starting from scratch to include a total upgrade. Plumbing needs some investment too. The smell coming from the bathroom is indescribably rotten. Cleaning standards can fall below what is acceptable as well, with bed linen being particularly suspect on occasions. The Bare Necessities policy also means ... no breakfast!

The fact that it is quite a hike to Kuta Beach would be easier to digest if the hotel had a swimming pool. It doesn't and this is a real disappointment for holiday makers. No beach and no pool!
