Positive Reviews
positive:
Pretty decent breakfast
While the breakfast is relatively simple, it does include added hot foods not offered by any other La Quinta hotels. This addition seems to have gone a long way with the guests, who described the breakfast as being varied enough to provide a decent start to their day.
positive:
Very good location
Most guests simply loved the location of the hotel. Though some distance from the center of Slidell, this did not other anyone in the slightest. Guests reported that there was excellent shopping and decent dining right on their doorstep.
positive:
Excellent pet-friendly policies
While they did, of course, also cause some issues, pet owners were over the moon about the hotel's incredibly pet friendly policies. In fact, in their minds it went far beyond mere policies. They said that the hotel actually created a warm and welcoming pet-friendly atmosphere.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Breakfast room too crowded
A couple of guests thought that, while the breakfast itself was fine, the breakfast room was much too small. Those traveling at especially busy times complained that it was hard to find a seat, sometimes leaving them holding a plate of food with nowhere to enjoy it.
negative:
Small maintenance issues in the rooms
While usually not major problems, a fair number of guests reported finding basic maintenance issues in their rooms - the kind of things that could easily be seen to by a handyman. The fact that such basic problems had not been resolved gave them the impression that management was not paying attention to the details.
negative:
Some staff not responsive
While only mentioned a few times, some guests found staff members uninterested in doing much beyond the bare minimum, and felt that the issues raised with them were being ignored.
