Tucked away on a side street, guests were pleased that Korbua House proved to be removed from street noise, yet close to the action. The bus and train stations were in close proximity, as was a shopping hub. Guests could even walk to a few main tourist sites, and it was easy to hail a taxi around the corner.
Guests who stayed for breakfast were usually happy that they did. Tasty and plentiful, guests could eat at a reasonable cost, with the option of an American-style breakfast and good coffee to round out the worthwhile meal.
Offensive odours caused many guests to second guess their hotel choice. Smelly bathroom drains and a foul smell emanating from the nearby canal were a real drag, especially considering that some guests found balconies to be unusable because of the smell.
Guests often said that small things were overlooked. Attention to detail would have made a huge difference, and things like burnt out light bulbs, stains, and fabric rips should have been taken care of.
Some guests were left wondering who had turned out the lights when staying in rooms that didn't overlook the canal. Windowless accommodation made rooms seem smaller than they were, and guests advised choosing a room on the opposite side of the hotel.
