Hotel Farnese (Rome, Italy)

The hotel is a short and easy walk to the Vatican city and its proximity to Rome's premier attraction was the highlight for many previous guests who stayed at the hotel.

The staff at the hotel rated very highly across a number of positive reviews with comments about how friendly and helpful staff were towards their guests. Guests also mentioned the free parking which was very convenient and saved them money, as parking is at a premium so close to the city centre.

The breakfast offered at the hotel was fresh and tasty and a number of guest reviewers mentioned that the selection of food was particularly delicious and included eggs, bread, yogurt and fresh fruit.

Some guests who had rooms which had street frontage complained that these rooms were very noisy due to the noise from passing traffic. Some guests in their reviews mentioned that the walls were also a bit thin and could use some sound-proofing, as the noise between rooms was unacceptable.

Some guests did not have a pleasant stay at the hotel as the temperature was not consistent and this disrupted their stay. Many guests were too hot in summer due to broken air-conditioning units and in winter guests were not warm enough as heating units failed.

Some guests felt that the hotel did not deserve its suggested five star rating, commenting that they felt that the decor, furnishing and fixtures were old and worn with many showing signs of age and neglect. Some reviewers suggested that these items needed replacing.
