About Diamond City Place
Situated well within walking distance of Pattaya’s famous beachfront, Diamond City Place offers standard rooms and mini-apartments close to the shopping and amenities of the city.
The rooms are fairly simply furnished, and have cooling tile floors. Each features en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning, refrigerator, TV and in-room safe. A few of the larger rooms also have small kitchenettes.
Reception is open limited hours and can assist with local information. The star feature is undoubtedly the intimate pool courtyard, ideal for a refreshing dip at the end of a long hot day.
The Diamond Coffee House is open for all three meals, and serves both Thai and Western cuisine. There are also a number of great dining options in the surrounding area.
The beach, and Pattaya’s famous “Walking Street”, is only 0.6 miles from Diamond City Place. Pattaya Airport is about 24 miles away.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Reasonably close to Walking Street and beach
Of course Pattaya is famous for its “Walking Street” and the beachfront area. While the hotel is not right by either of these, they are not far away. About 10 minutes walk by most guests reckoning. They were satisfied that they were near enough not to have to spend a lot of money on taxis to and fro.
positive:
Rooms are very spacious
Whatever other problems guests had with Diamond City, the size of the rooms certainly wasn't one of them. They are described as incredibly spacious, and were more than big enough for the size of the party booked in.
positive:
Surprisingly quiet
There were no real noise complaints to be found. On the contrary a few guests pointed out that their rooms were very quiet at night. They had clearly been expecting a bit more noise, but were pleasantly surprised.
Negative Reviews
negative:
A bit too basic
This was a fairly common compliant. While guest did concede that they had booked a budget option, they felt that the rooms were a bit sparse even for this category. The fact that the rooms were bigger than average probably did nothing to make the rooms look better furnished either.
negative:
Some staff exceptionally unhelpful
While guests had positive interactions with the staff as well, a bit too many had what they described as very bad experiences. They said that some staff were not simply unhelpful, when it came to dealing with a problem raised, but actively rude and abusive.
negative:
Pool is quite small
While many guests didn't exactly complain about the pool, they did point out that it was really too small to actually swim in. They still enjoyed it, but more just to plunge into at the end of the day to cool down a bit.
