Positive Reviews
positive:
Very convenient location
Guests clearly liked the location of the hotel - for a couple of reasons. Firstly, it was close enough to the freeway to allow guests to easily access it when traveling to, but not so close that the noise was a problem at night. Secondly, guests mentioned that there was a good selection if restaurants and shops nearby.
positive:
Excellent parking facilities
Considering that it is something guests typically take for granted, a surprising number mentioned being very happy with the parking. There was said to be more than enough available, so guests never needed to struggle to find a spot, and the lot was said to be well-lit, so they felt safe parking and walking there at night.
positive:
Newly updated
Several guests traveling as late as June 2016 mentioned that the hotel is in the process of being updated. Those who had been allocated an updated room were very impressed indeed. They enjoyed both the design itself and that “new room smell”.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Disruption due to renovations
Guests traveling as late as June 2016 mentioned that renovations were still ongoing. Many did not like the disruption this entailed, and felt that the hotel should have made more strenuous efforts no notify guests of the work when they made their booking.
negative:
No free lunch…or rather breakfast
Guests didn’t like that they had to pay for breakfast. The charge depended on their loyalty card reward level, but guests were clearly expecting it to be included in the price, as they mentioned some other hotels in the same category did.
negative:
Poor Wi-Fi
A number of guests reported experiencing problems with the Wi-Fi. Sometimes they couldn’t connect at all, while at other times they were repeatedly logged out and had to go through a laborious manual process of signing back in.
