Free soup and chilli, spa bath and deck
Guests mentioned that they appreciated the freebies here, and in particular, the free soup or chilli served up at dinner time, while the spa bath and the deck area were also firm favourites with the backpacker crowds.
positive:
Good backpacker and party atmosphere
The atmosphere of this hostel was thought to be great for those wanting to get to know fellow guests and get stuck into the adventure activities and nightlife Queenstown has to offer — especially the latter thanks to the hostel bar crawls. Furthermore, the staff working here was thought to be highly accommodating and friendly.
positive:
Walk to Queenstown gondola and downtown
Those who stayed at this hostel said it had a great location, close to all of the dining, bars and other attractions of downtown Queenstown and just a short walk uphill to the gondola.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Cramped rooms get a bit muggy
The rooms here were thought to be pretty cramped and there was said to be limited storage space and room to hang things up, so keep this in mind if you have a lot of gear. On that note, the rooms do also tend to get pretty muggy and can quickly smell of certain things depending on their inhabitants.
negative:
Thin walls and not-so-quiet guests
Reviews indicate that this is not the place for you if getting a good night's sleep is your number one priority, so perhaps bring earplugs, book elsewhere or join the party.
negative:
Cleanliness and bathroom situation not the best
It seems the overall standards of cleanliness here are not always amazing, the condition of the bathrooms were not thought very good and the washbasins considered a bit too small.
