A lot of backpackers watching their budget commented that this hostel was really good value for money so close to the city - with clean rooms and good amenities, when compared to other hostels in Brisbane city that can see the budget blown due to inflated prices.
The hostel is a 30 minute walk into the Queens Street mall and Southbank and the Lagoon beach which was popular with backpackers is only a 10 minute walk from the hostel. This easy proximity was mentioned by a number of backpackers as the hostel's best feature.
A common feature of reviews left about the hostel was that it was hot, as the air-conditioning was not functioning properly and that it was loud due to the younger backpackers banging about when arriving back to the hostel in the early hours.
A number of backpackers were really frustrated with the lack of help they received from staff, whether it be to fix broken amenities, help them when they were locked out of their room or give directions around the city; it seems from reviews that staff did not really know what was going on.
Backpackers who rely on Wi-Fi to stay connected to friends, family and other travellers were really disappointed in the lack of Wi-Fi in and around the hostel with many opting to pay for a service to ensure that they remained online.
